Act II Scenes i-iv: Below I have listed some helpful hints when studying for quizzes over Romeo and Juliet. Use these hints to recognize potential quiz items.
- When studying for any of the Romeo and Juliet quizzes always know where the scene takes place. As you can see from the example page below, the scene takes place "Near Capulet's orchard".
- Read the stage directions to know who is in the scene. Note that sometimes people are in the scene but never speak.
- Read ALL of the text aides and remember them. Look at the page below. An example of a quiz question would be
- Also from the text aides, check for any unfamiliar uses of common words that are listed in the text aides. An example of this -"What is a gossip?" The word is one we may use commonly;however, Shakespeare uses this word when referring to Venus. Using the text aide, we can see that its specific meaning is "a merry old lady".
